Luke + Laura's love fest
Late last year, we are celebrated Luke + Laura’s love story on the land of the Murramarang people. The ceremony and the party itself was at Bawley Vale Estate. What a stunning venue!
Bit of a back story - Lukey is an old mate of mine, we worked alongside eachother when employed by Built By Drew in Canberra. It just so happens we shared many schmoko chats, centered around his new love interest, enter Laura. As ambitious as this sounds (Luke was soooo bloody well over the moon), I knew that if I played my cards right, I’d have a gig in the coming years. What I didn’t expect was an invite as a guest too. Both April and I were not only able to contribute towards but were able to witness the extravaganza that was Luke and Laura. They did not hold back and nor did anyone from the dancefloor. It was already full at 6pm, it wasn’t even dark out!
As for the venue, Bawley Vale Estate… Laura + Luke love camping down the coast, so for their wedding day, naturally they were drawn to the area. They instantly fell in love with the grandeur + industrial nature of the Grange and.... as Luke so swiftly pointed out there was plenty of room to party, and party we did.
As to how they met. It’s a fun one. It was a mutual friend [Francis’] 26th birthday, what’s interesting... is they’d been to plenty of the same parties over the course of 10 years but had never been officially introduced. They were immediately drawn to one another and simply, had loads of fun! Which we’ve all come to understand is a constant theme in this relationship. For instance, the classic running joke between Luke + Laura, is that their relationship is the world’s longest and never ending one night stand.
Highlights include… camping trips, meals out, renovating their first home, Covid lock downs, vegging on the couch, good wine, and one-off experiences...
On the day that Luke proposed, it was snowing, and Laura made a point that something special was going to happen that morning, with NO CLUE about Luke’s intentions and conspiring’s for the day ahead... (naaaawwwww)
They both have a very similar idea of what they want their life to look like and a big part of that center’s around having a beautiful home to grow into. Luke + Laura will ensure they have a fun and full life and incorporate as many adventures as they can. They want their family unit to expand but can also see themselves flipping another 15 houses, going on lots of holidays, hosting and attending lots of parties with friends all fueled by laughter, kindness, good food and great wine.
